footings!

The footing for the seat wall around the play structure is pored.

Note the opening on the far side for the sidewalk and ramp.

On the south side here, the rebar went a bit far. Will said he'd cut it back to allow for the ramp.

The new drainage trench for the play structure area. This helps prevent the rainwater from filling up the play area like a bathtub without a drain. Currently, it stops at the edge of the park property. It will eventually be connected to the raingardens.

Yeah! After 9 grueling months of repetitive iterations of review and critique and design changes, the SDOT permit for the raingardens is finally ready. I need to pony up $101 and pick it up next week.

For the record, our permit number is 53803.

The Latest News

WS Contractors

The low bidder for the ‘base bid’ on the park was WS Contractors. According to the ebidexchange.com/seattle website, they have been awarded the contract. But, word from Parks is that they still have to post a bond.

Update on Bidding, Contracting, and Phased Construction

First, there was a decision made by people at the city (Dept. of Neighborhoods) that we can’t piggyback onto the Parks’ Dept. bidding process (for many and varied reasons). So, we will have to rebid the raingardens, living room, and corner store.
