Ballard District Council Holiday Party

I attended the Ballard District Council Holiday Party last night. They gave out a bunch of awards and as I was standing there, a woman I’d never met before said to me, “Are you accepting contributions tonight?” I, trying to act non-plussed, said, “Yes!” When I looked at the name on the $100 check, she turned out to be Diana Aakervik, the wife of Warren Aakervik, owner of Ballard Oil. I thanked her and retrieved some buttons for the both of them.
